The application is a site plan review for an addition to the existing building.

Mr. Tom Lowe from T. J. Madison Construction Co. was present on behalf of Meier Supply Co.

An overview of the project was given at the October 23, 2007 regular meeting.

Mr. Putman asked if there would be any signage. Mr. Lowe stated that no, there would not be.

Mr. Sas asked about the standing water in the truck bay. Mr. Lowe stated that they would be re-grading that area. Mr. Meier is considering future plans for another possible addition and additional docks in this area.

Mr. Putman read the Department Head Comments.

DEPARTMENT HEAD COMMENTS

Code Enforcement:                The structure and its use need to be in accordance with NYS Building Codes and FEMA Flood Regulations. Stamped drawings need to be submitted with your building permit application.

Fire Dept:                               Plot plan ok.

Planning Dept:                       Comply with requirements of code to submit elevation certificate for building. Building should be 2 ft. above base flood elevation. Recommend approval.

Police Dept:                            No comments submitted.

Public Works:                         NYSDOT should be contacted for permission to discharge storm water onto NYS Route 17 Right of Way.

Water Dept:                           NCI

B. C. Planning:                       The Planning Department has reviewed the case and has not identified any significant countywide or inter-community impacts associated with the proposed project. However the site is listed as having potential environmental issues.

BMTS:                                   We have no traffic concerns regarding the proposed warehouse addition.

NYS DOT:                              No comments or concerns.

BC Health Dept:                    The Broome County Health Department has reviewed the address in question for potential environmental issues. The parcel in question is a former spill site (#9006271; #9600257) and underground storage tank site (7-490814). Residual contamination from these spills and tank(s) might be encountered during excavations on-site.        If this occurs, the NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation must be notified.

Attorney Jacobs disclosed for the record that his law firm, through Attorney Herb Kline, serves as counsel to both Meier Supply Co. and T. J. Madison Construction Co. although the office has not been asked nor have they provided any guidance with respect to the application.

Mr. Putman asked about start and completion dates. Mr. Lowe stated that they would like to start on Wednesday (11/7/07) and expects to have building completed by the first of the year. There will be some pavement work that will need to wait until spring.
