Mr. Putman called the meeting
to order at
Mr. Putman noted the
emergency exits.

Site Plan Review – T.J. Madison
Construction Co. for Meier Supply Co., Inc, 123 Brown Street
The application is a site plan review for an addition to the
existing building.
Mr. Tom Lowe from T. J. Madison Construction Co. was present
on behalf of Meier Supply Co.
An overview of the project was given at the
Mr. Putman asked if there would be any signage. Mr. Lowe
stated that no, there would not be.
Mr. Sas asked about the standing water in the truck bay. Mr.
Lowe stated that they would be re-grading that area. Mr. Meier is considering
future plans for another possible addition and additional docks in this area.
Mr. Putman read the Department Head Comments.
DEPARTMENT HEAD COMMENTS
Code Enforcement: The structure and its use need to be in
accordance with NYS Building Codes and FEMA Flood Regulations. Stamped drawings
need to be submitted with your building permit application.
Fire Dept: Plot
plan ok.
Planning
Dept: Comply with requirements of code to
submit elevation certificate for building. Building should be 2 ft. above base
flood elevation. Recommend approval.
Police
Dept: No comments
submitted.
Public
Works: NYSDOT
should be contacted for permission to discharge storm water onto NYS Route 17
Right of Way.
Water
Dept: NCI

Planning: The Planning Department has reviewed the
case and has not identified any significant countywide or inter-community
impacts associated with the proposed project. However the site is listed as
having potential environmental issues.
BMTS: We have no traffic concerns regarding the
proposed warehouse addition.
NYS DOT: No comments or concerns.
BC
Health Dept: The Broome County Health Department has
reviewed the address in question for potential environmental issues. The parcel
in question is a former spill site (#9006271; #9600257) and underground storage
tank site (7-490814). Residual contamination from these spills and tank(s)
might be encountered during excavations on-site. If this occurs, the NYS Dept. of Environmental
Conservation must be notified.
Attorney Jacobs disclosed for the record
that his law firm, through Attorney Herb Kline, serves as counsel to both Meier
Supply Co. and T. J. Madison Construction Co. although the office has not been
asked nor have they provided any guidance with respect to the application.
Mr. Putman asked about start and
completion dates. Mr. Lowe stated that they would like to start on Wednesday (
Mrs. Drimak asked if they
have sufficient parking. Mr. Lowe stated that yes there is.
A motion to approve the Site Plan for
T.J. Madison Construction Co. for Meier Supply Co. at
Motion Carried Vote: Yes – 3
No – 0 Absent – 2
