General Information and Application for
HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS
Temporary and Permanent Parking Permits for
Upon receipt of the documentation, the Village Clerk will issue a
Temporary or Permanent Parking Permit. A Temporary Parking Permit can be issued
for up to six (6) months. A Permanent Parking Permit is issued for a three (3)
year period. At the expiration date, the permit holder will be required to
supply proof of residence if they
continue to need a Handicapped Parking Permit.
The Handicapped Parking Permit does not excuse the individual from meter
charges or following the law. It is available to allow those who have
difficulty ambulating, the opportunity to park close to their destination. The
Handicapped Parking Permit is issued to the person who has the disability. The
permit should remain with the individual, not the car. For example, if you
drive a handicapped individual, the permit should hang from your mirror. If you
are not driving that person, you the driver, do not have the right to use the
permit. Abuses of a Handicapped Parking Permit can result in the revocation of
the permit.
NOTE: Do not send your application to the N.Y.S. Department
of Motor Vehicles. DMV does NOT issue parking permits.
