brief work session was held at 7:00pm.
Vice
Chairman Mazanek called the meeting to order at 7:30pm.
Vice
Chairman Mazanek noted the emergency exits.
Minutes
– A motion to accept the minutes of the July 14, 2008 regular meeting was made
by Mr. Snedaker and seconded by Dr. Holowinski. The motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS
Public Hearing – Area Variance – United
Health Services,
The
application is a request for an area variance to reduce the
minimum required setback from 25ft. to 10 ft. for a storage shed.
Karen
McElwee with United Health Services was present on behalf of the applicant.
Vice
Chairman Mazanek opened the Public Hearing.
Ms.
McElwee explained that the variance is needed for a future storage building to
be built in the new parking lot to house engineering and snow removal
equipment.
There
being no one else wishing to speak, Vice Chairman Mazanek closed the Public
Hearing.
Dr.
Holowinski asked about the number of trucks that will fit in the building. Ms.
McElwee stated that the building is 40’ x 70’ and will house 4 vehicles and 2
cabotas used for snow removal.
Vice
Chairman Mazanek read the Department Head Comments.
DEPARTMENT HEAD
COMMENTS
Code Enforcement: Recommend approval.
Fire Dept: Comments not
received.
Planning
Dept: Recommend
approval.
Police
Dept: See
highlighted area on site plan (attached). Recommend no parking in these areas.
This will provide an escape route for motorists that enter the aisle. If all
parking spaces are occupied and there is no escape route, motorists may have to
back out of the aisle.
Public Works & Water Dept:
·
The 841.00
elevation along the west side of the parking lot should be higher to ensure
drainage into DW#1 which has a top of grate elevation of 841.00.
·
Drainage design
calculations are required to be submitted to the Director of Public Services for
review.
·
The contractor
will be required to obtain a Street Work permit from the Department of Public
Works for the work within
B. C. Planning: N/A
A
motion to approve the variance to reduce the minimum required setback from
25ft. to 10ft. including the Department Head Comments was made by Dr.
Holowinski and seconded by Mrs. Marusich.

– 0 Absent – 1 (Rowlands)
